New Nike Tech Pack Air Max 1 & Safari

Nike Tech Pack Safari and Air Max 1 at Nort Berlin

It was only a few weeks ago that the Nike Tech Pack released with a pair of late 80’s running legends with a new school twist on colors.  For this round, the Air Max 1 sports a mesh toe, “Safari like” mudguard, dressings of gold and black, all atop a gum outsole.  Its as if Nike read the running section of sneaker forums where it seems every head wants two simple things on their Air Max kicks; mesh toe and colored midsole.

The Safari, like in the last Tech Pack, sports colors not originally seen on the sneaker, but ones that will turn heads.  The safari print is treated with a grey-blue and pops of a cold pink set these apart from the rest of the pack.  These will release Friday, March 14th at Nort Berlin in tighter quantities than the last Tech Pack.

“Chicken Run” New Balance 1400

One hundred and two years ago, an English immigrant by the name of William J. Riley founded New Balance in Cambridge, MA. Though not planning to create one of the top athletic footwear companies a century later, Riley was determined to help improve our balance with his arch supports. Riley’s inspiration came from his humble surroundings of a chicken yard where he observed that the 3-clawed bird had perfect balance. His hope - that his designs inspired by the chicken’s foot could provide “new balance” to his customers.

Next month, New Balance is releasing the “Chicken Run” 1400 that pays respects to the company’s foundation by using representative details throughout the shoe. Across the toe cap and continuing down the side of the shoe depicting a chicken morphing into a runner. These sneakers are constructed down the road from Cambridge, MA in the New England factories of New Balance - that’s right, Made in USA.

Look for these beginning April 1st for $150 at premier New Balance retailers.

Air Jordan Fusion 12 vs. Air Jordan 12 Playoffs

Since the late 80s, the Bulls have developed a tradition that when playoff times came, it was time to lace up in black kicks. This is why all “Playoff” edition colors of Air Jordans are black based. In the 1996-97 season, MJ was short changed in the MVP voting, losing to Karl Malone, but Mike sought revenge beating Malone and the Jazz in 6 while earning NBA Finals top honors of MVP.

The Air Jordan Fusion 12 “Playoffs” release this weekend. This is the fourth colorway of the Fusion 12’s to release, but just the second that will be widely available to the public as a general release. Though you shouldn’t have much of a problem grabbing the shoes in stores, you can get them with the convenience of online shopping at Finishline.

Nike Air Force 1 Mid ‘07 - White/Black/Neon

We’ve all seen the Nike “Air Max” inspired Air Force 1’s that are scheduled to release in the upcoming months and while we’re all excited about the Safari and Mowabb pairs, here is a more basic Mid model that Nike has just released at various Nike Japan retailers. The shoe seems to take some inspiration from the Air Max series and the White/Black/Neon colorway surely reminds us of a pair of Air Maxes. The mesh on the upper gives this shoe some life because without it, this pair would just be another pair of AF1 Mid’s that’d probably sit on shelves. via Chapter Express

Air Jordan Force III (3) Fusion - Black - University Blue

Air Jordan Force III (3) Fusion - Black - University Blue

Just a day before Christmas 2004, the catalog illustrations of the Air Jordan Force III (3) Fusion were leaked and feelings were mixed. This weekend, Japanese online retailer Shoe-planet.com put up a new logo banner with a sneak-peak shot of the Black, University Blue colorway of the Air Jordan Force III (3) Fusion. In the catalog, the outsole was university blue, in this photo, the outsole is a very clear translucent ice white sole. The elephant print is a mixed orange and university blue and the rest of the shoe looks to be a black nubuck. Looks very very interesting, we can’t wait to see the full images. Via Shoe-planet.com
